Over the holidays I had the chance to hang out with Janelle and Julien for their engagement session! It was a total blast!
It’s important to me that all my sessions are fun and relaxing.
Having fun = way better photos!
Living up here in the north, the weather plays a huge role in how much time you can spend outdoors at this time of year. It also plays a big role on the style of your photos and of course what you choose to wear! Sometimes you want the winter feel, but not necessarily the toque and parka kind of look to go with it!
Since weekends are my busiest time, making it very difficult to reschedule a session if weather doesn’t cooperate, I like to suggest weekdays to allow for a lot more flexibility!
This was the perfect example why! With theirs being during the week, we were able to make sure we had the most ideal weather, so they could have as much fun as possible!
Originally we had a different date chosen, but with the conditions of the previous day we decided to reschedule. The rain, huge drop in temperature overnight, blowing winds, and the crunchy slippery frozen walkways did not make it the ideal time to go out and shoot. I knew they would have that “I’m an ice cube” look on their faces!
Although they were still a go, no matter what, I really wanted them to enjoy this time. So I suggested we postpone to a better day. I’m happy they agreed. Only a couple days later it had warmed up and snowed a little. It was the best day to spend time together outside.
It was perfect!!
Congratulations Janelle and Julien! Looking forward to a much warmer time (even though it was perfect) this summer for your wedding!!
Here are some of my favourites from their session!!
