A few days ago I had the pleasure of hanging out with Christine, Joe (her 14 year old horse) and Ben (her 4 month old Weimaraner puppy). Ben didn’t want to spend much time in front of the camera, he just wanted to explore and jump in the tall grass. However, I still managed to get a few cute photos of him, which you’ll have to scroll down to see!
The goal was mainly to capture some shots of Christine and Joe, since she’s never actually had professional photos done of just the two of them. So, I met them out at a Ranch in the Valley. We expected some rain, but didn’t think it was going to start as soon as we got there. We were originally hoping for some sunny shots with a few clouds slowly trickling in to give us a nice clean overcast sky, followed by a touch of rain to change the mood. But no such luck.
If only I could control the weather, right?

Luckily it didn’t downpour. But rain or shine, we were still going to shoot!
The light drizzle slowly picked up as we went, giving us great lighting. You can’t really see the drops in some of the photos, but in others it added to the dreamy feeling. Just perfect!
Christine’s first dress was perfect for the casual feel we wanted. Later, we used a white dress to create something of a fairy-tale feeling. The combination of the nearby forest, the weather, and her outfit selection made this shoot all come together perfectly.

Such a fun shoot! I’ve never worked with horses before, so the challenge was in my hands, but I am very proud of the outcome!
