Last week, Mike and Vanessa invited me to the Niagara area for a couple of days. They had a bunch of pretty awesome things planned for their engagement and wanted me to capture some of the moments for them.
It was super fun!
It all started out with a trip to the Albian Falls, for some couples’ photos. I had never heard of this place before… Seems as though Niagara Falls steals all of the attention. The high falls, which were tucked away (canyon style) with water slowly trickling down, made for a pretty amazing location. When shooting near water, it’s always hard to stay dry. All three of us walked away soaked! After we dried off we went to another close location, a little walking path covered by beautiful trees and shade.
The awesomeness didn’t stop there!
Being avid Lamborghini fans, incorporating one into their session was a must. The super cool, clean and slick look made heads turn as they drove by. People honked and took photos when stopped at lights. Kids came up excited, asking “Is that a Lambo?”, followed by “can I take a selfie?”. I think for us guys, we all dreamt of having one when we were younger! Including me. Guess who was able to take it for a little spin later on (one more thing checked off my bucket list) hehe!
Most cars don’t look good in bright orange, but when you have a car like this, any colour works. After taking some formal shots at a more country style location, I wanted to take a night shot in front of the winery they were going to visit the next day. The bright orange colour really looked amazing in front of the ambient lights of the Twin Sisters Winery.
Using a lot of flash, which is typically not my style, I wanted to create the feeling of motion (using light trails), while also incorporating a kiss! You’ll see more when you scroll down!
You’d think this would have been enough excitement for one session, but it didn’t stop there.
The following day we had some time inside the winery, just the three of us. We got to go into the private barrel room where all the magic happens. It was pretty cool seeing all of them stacked so high! From there we headed to the tasting room and took a little stroll through the vineyard. It was hot and bright, but overall an amazing and beautiful day!
I can’t thank them enough for taking me along with them on this adventure. It was a great time to hang out, get to know each other and of course also talk about their special day coming this fall!
Congratulations again Vanessa and Mike. I’m both excited and happy that I have and will be a part of such important moments of your lives.
