I don’t think 2020 would be complete without a blog about this wedding! Probably one of my most anticipated weddings of the year. Apart from these two being an amazing couple, their venue, the Sherwood Inn, was on the bucket list of “must shoot” wedding venues!
Like for many other couples this year, Covid-19 hit, forcing Laura and Alex to decide whether or not they should continue with their original wedding date or postpone it to another time…
Such a difficult decision to make.
Originally having a wedding date of June 20th, they waited until about a month before to make the call… Do we do it? Or do we postpone?
Looks like they didn’t want to wait too long. They postponed it to just a few months later. Fingers were crossed in hopes things would have cleared up by their new date, September 20th, 2020.
Unfortunately, as we all know, that didn’t happen! BUT… restrictions were a little more flexible, so they continued with the plan. YAY!
I can just imagine how the ups and downs (emotionally), as they planned, were a real struggle. It was a goal of mine to accommodate all wedding couples as best as I could leaving as many options open as possible, and it seems they had an amazing group of vendors that also wanted to work together to seamlessly make this day as best as possible for them.
Huge shout out to Christina (and staff) at the Sherwood Inn for their amazing hospitality. They followed all social distancing measures, but went above and beyond to accommodate for any of those that had special requests… It truly stood out. The venue grounds and ceremony location were just a dream to shoot at, not to mention the amazing food (one of the best meals ever), and the decor… WOW. Just stunning!
The staff even offered and made me 2 large coffees “to-go” for the drive home! If you know me, this is the way to my heart lol.
For them, having immediate family from all over Canada come was important, but of course not necessarily possible. Alex’s brother from Vancouver wasn’t initially able to make it, but just a couple days before the big day, they heard the great news…
HE WAS ON THE WAY!
Even I was extremely happy to hear. With all the struggles, I knew this was a game-changer for them; something that would brighten the day just that bit more.
I honestly could write a novel about this day… but I know all you want to do is look at the photos lol.
To end it off, I couldn’t have imagined waiting any longer to photograph these two as they tied the knot.
Such a fun and special day!
