It’s been just over a month since my trip to the Pas de Deux Photo conference in Phoenix. I still think back and wish I could do it again.
Meeting and learning from some of the top dance photographers in the world, including Jordan Matter, David Hoffman (Sharkcookie), Tayler-Ferne Morris and Rachel Neville, was such an amazing experience. An experience I will never forget! I also had the opportunity to meet some amazing photographers who I can now call my friends. I also worked with some amazing dancers from all around the USA.
Over the course of the 3 day conference, one of the photographers I had met, Jason Christie (of Jason Christien Photo) had a similar plan to spend a few days after the conference to set up some shoots with local dancers.
One of the talented dancers we had the opportunity to work with was Summer Montenegro, an amazing dancer from the Phoenix Master Ballet Academy. She was excited to shoot and had 3 outfits ready, including one of her gorgeous tutus. These outfits worked perfectly in the all-white bright studio full of natural light (Blok Studio, an amazing little studio located in the downtown of Phoenix).
It was a true honour working with this talented young lady (and along side Jason)! Thank you both for the fun morning and of course the opportunity to practice and gain experience working with a true ballerina.
