The Fashion Photo Shoot Inspiration.
Just over a year ago I attended a workshop with one of the top Fashion Photographers in the world, Emily Soto. She shared her vision and her style, that makes her one of the best.
Emily set up a wonderful team to allow us to concentrate on posing, taking the shot and post processing to our own individual style. Here is the inspiration behind my first ever full team Bridal Fashion Shoot!

This was a life changing moment for me. Not only was it my first real workshop, but it opened my eyes to what I wanted to bring to my clients. The Experience. Concentrating mainly on Weddings, it didn’t end there. Something special I could give to everyone.

Polaroid. Instant images shot with a Land Camera that photographers used in the 70’s. It creates that timeless feeling. The “in the moment”, that has sadly been lost with the digital age. Although digital has allowed for so many great things, having that image right in front of you, at that exact moment, is something that words can’t describe. It’s a true moment captured at that exact time, for you to take home at the end of the day. A feeling I needed to give all my clients. Now something included in all my sessions.

She also brought forward a very romantic style with her distinct vision. With her focus on high fashion I wanted to bring that same feeling to my wedding clients. I wanted to create a romantic style with a high fashion twist.
I needed to do this and call it my own, my own style, something never done up here in the north. I wanted everyone to see what I had experienced!
The photoshoot.
This photoshoot was a huge project, conveniently scheduled at probably the worst time of the year for almost everyone involved. Wedding season! Luckily the theme suited well and we were all already moving in full swing!
The plan for this shoot was to take 4 real brides (not models) and offer them a reason to put their dress back on for just that one more time. We also wanted show everyone how awesome a pre-wedding or post wedding bridal shoot can be!
The Goal.
Our goal was to create 2 different looks for each bride. Starting with a more natural look, ending with something a tad more edgy! Each of the brides were asked to supply their own wedding dresses allowing us to style according to their look and not just of our own interest. We also wanted to add a little vintage feel, so location and props played a huge role!
With over 50 entries into the event it was really hard to choose who would be the lucky brides! After many challenges planning all the details, it all finally fell into place and we ended up with our beautiful models Amanda, Meagan, Celine and Kim.
With each member of the team bringing their own talents and vision, aligning with mine, this High Fashion Bridal shoot became a huge success. It WAS something special, not just for the brides, but all of us. We, the team, created something that will never be forgotten. Something I want everyone to experience! Here is the amazing team I put together! Starting from the top (literally):
Hairstylist – Justin Fraser from Bella’s Hair Lounge
Makeup Artists – danalajeunesse and Jessi Smith
Outfit Stylists – Kim Blanchette and Haley Newell
Bouquet and Headpieces – Lindsay Sisko from Near Nature Florals
Behind the Scenes Photographer – Lynne Dupuis

I can’t thank all these amazing people enough. Their hard work added to a truly was an amazing day! Wouldn’t have been the same without any of them! Enjoy, make sure to comment your thoughts. Would love to hear them!
